SMPTE, the home for media professionals, technologists, and engineers, has opened early registration for the 2024 Media Technology Summit. The SMPTE Media Technology Summit 2024 is the Society’s annual media technology conference that brings together global industry leaders to share their latest research findings and offer solutions to industry issues while providing a space for professionals to network and learn. This year’s Summit will take place October 21-24 at the Ovation Hollywood in Hollywood, California.
“This year, the Media Technology Summit will be bigger and better than ever,” said Marc Zorn, SMPTE Hollywood Chair and Conference Co-Chair. “For example, instead of a traditional keynote address, we will have featured speaker sessions with key filmmakers to discuss the roles that technologies and SMPTE play in their process. Throughout most of SMPTE’s 108-year history, this conference has been the one to set the standards with technologists, high-level professionals, creatives, and executives. This is the best forum in media and entertainment in which to exchange ideas, create innovation, improve everything we do, and foster the networks to make it all happen.”
Early bird pricing for this year’s conference lasts from June 10 to July 31. Once early bird pricing ends, those who wish to participate in the conference will pay the going rate at the time of registration. Attendees will have access to peer-reviewed technical sessions, invited presentations, and panels on the industry’s most pressing issues, as well as to the Solutions Hub and all the new features of this year’s conference, like the Tech Trek.
The Tech Trek will be guided, interactive exhibit tours showcasing technology discussed in the sessions. These tours will provide participants with an opportunity to experience technology firsthand, as well as the leaders who created it. There will also be off-site experiences on October 24 for those who are interested in participating.
